Your Team

How good is your team? The runner-scoring efficiencies in the major leagues are nearly always below 50%, and less than 40%
for some teams. Major league teams leave more runners stranded on base than those scoring. Take a look at the following
scoring efficiencies and efficiency rankings of all the major league teams in 2005 (runner scoring efficiency is the number of
runs scored divided by the number of runners reaching base and not caught stealing):

Do you know the runner-scoring efficiency for your team?
Do you know of any other business or industry that can survive efficiencies this low?

There are two reasons for the low scoring efficiencies: low batting averages and poor batting-order picks.  There is only so
much that coaches can do about the batting averages: coaches try to get the best hitters that they can. But there is much that
coaches can still do about their batting order picks. Just how good is your batting order? Do you even know? There are 9!, or
362,880 batting orders. Coaches cannot be expected to pick superior batting orders from such a vast number of possible
batting orders by themselves, not without the aid of a computer and proper software. Our company has developed software that
gives you the tools you need to build better baseball and softball teams and make better batting order picks using your
computer.
